Jake's Wire Tighteners were created for ranchers by a rancher. One day, David Franklin Els ("Jake") had a couple bulls "wreak havoc" on his fence. He came up with a solution to fix the fence to speed up the process. Though Jake never got to see the success of his idea, Jake's nephew patented the clip and set out to help make the clever tool available to everyone.
