Deter
Cost-effective solutions to help protect your property from invading animals.

Decoys

Predator decoys such as coyotes, owls, swans, and alligator heads are visual deterrents used mainly for nuisance birds. The most critical element of using decoys is to regularly move them, never keeping them in the same place for more than a day or two. If the "predator" is in the same spot for several days, the birds will realize it's not a threat and ignore it.
Fencing

The most effective deterrent for damage from larger animals like deer is a properly built and maintained fence because it places a physical barrier between what is to be protected and the animal. If deer or other wildlife density is high and tolerance for damage to valuable plants is low, fencing is a good choice to consider.

Repel
Safe, simple and effective proactive protection professionals use every.

Repellents
Granular, liquid and spray repellents are applied outdoors to keep critters away from a specific location, while electronic ones are used to drive pests out of the area.

Trap
Easy-to-bait, -set and -release products with harmless, proven efficiency.

Live Traps

Live traps are a safe and humane means to catch, transfer and release unwanted animals from your land and buildings. Traps should be placed in locations of animal activity, and are ideal for heavy traffic areas. Traps leave little doubt about the results. Learn how to use live traps >

Baiting
Using baits or lures will encourage and entice a target animal into a trap while discouraging others from poking around it. Spread a small amount of bait right outside the trap door so the animal can get another taste of what's inside. Place the bait under the trap pan so the animal will have to work a little harder to get at it and make it more likely it will spring the trap mechanism. Always bait a trap before setting it.

Kill
Innovative and simple-to-use products safely eliminate problem pests.

Sometimes the solution to a pest problem is to get rid of the critter permanently. An example of an effective product that works safely and quickly is Motomco Mole Killer. Simply place product (in worm or grub form) in active tunnels for moles to find. A single worm (or two grubs) contain a lethal dose of Bromethalin which can kill moles the same day. Consider implementing multiple methods simultaneously to ensure your animal control program has the best chance at success.

Whether the critter is considered a game animal or not, you should check with local authorities before undertaking any control program. Some states may require a permit to trap or kill non-game animals, and it's best to find out beforehand, rather than afterwards.
