| Harper Brush Co. has made
the best industrial-grade brooms available since 1900! |
| The Harper family has been making
quality brooms at their Fairfield, IA facility since 1900.
In the last 96 years they have developed a reputation for producing
the most durable, high-quality brooms around. They have a unique
product which is hard to find today. |
| Harper builds each broom around a select grade maple block.
They are the only broom maker left that uses hardwood in this
quality range. |
| Blocks are cut to length and routed for a smooth
outside edge. |
Finished blocks are painted and detailed before
the bristles can be inserted into the broom head. |
| High-speed precision drills create the holes
into which the bristle fibers will be locked. |
Harper makes broom heads with a variey of natural
and synthetic bristles. Shown are bundles of the natural fiber
African Bass. |
| Bristles are cut down to an even sweeping length
by hand. |
Handles are made with high-tensile strength
Ramin wood. It is ideal for broom handles because it is very
strong and knot-free. |
| The handles are dipped into paint tanks to apply
their red details. |
The last step is to apply a protective coating
to the handle that makes it smooth to handle. |
