How to Care for Your Boots

You can prolong the life of your boots with the proper care. The tips below explain how to care
for the various types of boots available at GEMPLER'S ®.

• Rinse boots thoroughly after every use
• Wash with mild soap and water if needed
• Allow the boots to dry in a cool, dry place,
preferably by hanging them on a boot rack
or using a boot dryer
• Do not dry in direct sunlight
• Prolonged exposure to direct
sunlight may contribute
to drying out and
stiffening of the
boot materials
• For waders, turn
inside out and
hang to dry
• This will also help
to prevent odor
buildup |

dry place, preferably by hanging them on a
boot rack or using a boot dryer
• Do not dry in direct sunlight

• Treat rubber boots
regularly with a rubber
conditioner
• For waders, turn inside
out and hang to dry
• This will also help
to prevent odor buildup |

• Wash the dirt and mud off boots with water and mild soap
• Let the boots air dry at room temperature
• Do not dry boots on or near a heat source, it may dry out and stiffen the leather
• After the boots are dry, apply a boot and shoe oil or a leather dressing
liberally, let dry overnight. Wipe off any excess in the morning
• This may slightly darken leather
• Using the above system preserves and weatherproofs your boots
• Never use on brushed, suede or silicone treated leathers |

• Do not use water
• Brush off the dirt with a
nylon bristle brush
• Apply a silicone water
proofing product
evenly and let dry at
room temperature,
away from a direct heat
source, repeat application
• This will allow the boot
to repel water, snow
and dew |
• Clean the Cordura with
a damp cloth using mild
soap and water to
remove dirt, mud and
salt stains
• If the boot is leather
trimmed, use the appro-
priate leather care
product on that area
• Allow the boot to dry at
room temperature |
• Boots that have a
Gore-Tex waterproof
lining should not require
any other type of
waterproofing
• Wash the dirt and mud
off boots with water
and mild soap
• Let the boots air dry
at room temperature |
