You can prolong the life of your boots with the proper
care. The tips below explain how to care for the various
types of boots available at GEMPLER'S.
PVC and Vinyl Boots
Rinse boots thoroughly after every use. Wash with mild
soap and water when needed. Allow the boots to dry in a
cool, dry place, preferably by hanging them upside down
on a boot rack or using a boot dryer. Do not dry in direct
sunlight. Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight may contribute
to drying out and stiffening the boot materials. If this
is a wader, turn inside out and hang to dry. This will
also help to prevent odor build-up.

Full-Grain Leather & Oiled Leather Boots
Wash the dirt and mud off boots with water and mild
soap. Let the boots air dry at room temperature. Do not
dry boots on or near a heat source because it may contribute
to drying out and stiffening of the leather. After the
boots are dry, apply a boot and shoe oil or a leather dressing
liberally and let dry overnight. Wipe off any excess in
the morning. May slightly darken leather. This system preserves
and weatherproofs your boots. Never use on brushed, suede
or silicone treated leathers.

Nubuck & Split Leather Boots
Do not use water. Brush off the dirt with a nylon bristle
brush. Apply a silicone waterproofing product evenly and
let dry at room temperature, away from a direct heat source,
then repeat the application. This will allow the boot to
repel water, snow and dew.

Cordura Nylon Boots
Clean the Cordura with a damp cloth using mild soap
and water to remove dirt, mud and salt stains. If the boot
is leather trimmed, use the appropriate leather care product
to clean those areas. Allow the boot to dry at room temperature.

Gore-Tex Lined Boots
Boots that have a Gore-Tex® waterproof lining should
not require any other type of waterproofing. You should

products.
