Tips on Using the Air/Liquid Adapter Kit

|
1. The Air/Liquid
Adapter Kit (item no. 7K), permits fast filling of
tires with fluid for ballast. The picture at the left
shows the parts included in the kit. |
|
2. Support tire and wheel assembly
off ground and rotate assembly to position valve core on
top. |
|
3. If the tire valve has a core
housing like those found on tractor tires, remove the valve
core to deflate the tire and then remove the core housing.
Otherwise, for tires that do not have valve core housing, click
here.
|
|
4. Install water hose on the large
end of the Air/Liquid Adapter. Make sure hose is tightly
connected.
|
|
5. Leave the rim nut on the stem
and attach the Air/Liquid Adapter to the valve stem base.
|
|
6. Turn on water supply. As water
is filling the tire and taking up space, additional air
pressure will develop. The added air pressure needs to
be released to keep the pressure from becoming excessive
and so that water will continue to flow. To release pressure,
turn off water supply and slowly push the pressure release
button on the adapter. This will release both water and
air at first. After a short time, water will stop being
released and only air will continue to be released. When
there is no more air pressure, release button and turn
on water supply again. Repeat this process of releasing
air pressure until the water level reaches the valve or
until the tire is 75% filled with liquid. Then turn off
water supply, press button to release any remaining air
pressure, remove the Air/Liquid Adapter, and reinstall
the core and/or core housing. Finally, add air to tire
until air pressure is at the factory recommended level.

Special instructions
for tires without valve core housing:
|
|
A. For tires without valve core
housing, remove valve core and deflate tire.
|
|
B. Install small adapter on valve
stem threads. Then install the Air/Liquid Adapter as shown
in the picture to the left. Then install water hose on
the large end of the Air/Liquid Adapter. Make sure hose
is tightly connected. Proceed to step
#6 above.
