INS ™ Tire Studs - CTS All-terrain

Removable solution for ice and snow season

Eliminate the need for a second set of tires during winter with removable tire studs. They’re better than chains at preventing side slipping and feature solid carbide heads for greater traction and wear. Plus, heat-treated alloy steel bodies add strength and durability. They’re also easy to install. Self-tapping thread means it won’t pull out and no drilling is required – just use the 8mm, 5/16" (Item No. 219515) installation tool and a drill driver. Select a stud length that is equal to or shorter than tire lug height. For use on all skid steers, loaders, tractors, backhoes and tracked vehicles. Designed for rugged use in all snow removal, construction and mining vehicles where ice makes traction difficult. The large, solid carbide head really digs in and stops spinning and side slipping. Available in 3/4"L and 1"L. See application chart for required number of studs. USA made. Specify length and quantity from the drop down boxes above.

CTS Required Number of Studs
Tractor 200-300
Skid Steer 100-150
Loaders & Graders 200-300
Backhoe 150-300

Comments about INS Tire Studs - CTS All-terrain:

We have 250 of these installed in the rear tires of a CAT 246 Skid Steer Loader. With these installed, this machine is happily clearing snow with a 12' snow pusher, and rarely loses traction. The only problem we have found is that when the tire tread gets worn down, the screws have a tendency to punch through the inside of the tires and cause them to leak. This seems to be easily fixed, however, by using a tire sealant, such as Slime, or Ultraseal. Overall, these seem to be far superior to tire chains, as they are semipermanent, and do not give the rough ride of chains, and seem to do less damage to asphalt than chains.

Comments about INS Products INS Tire Studs - CTS All-terrain:

the suggested counts are for 2 wheels, if you have a 4x4 tractor or ATV etc you will want them on all wheels. then it get really expensive.
