I bought this roll of burlap to use as an alternative to canvas. It's a medium weight burlap, which requies multiple layers of gesso. However, because of its width and length, I can use it to create several large canvases with an interesting texture.

Works well as a wrap and add the hog ring pliers you have a match made in heaven. We will see how they hold up in the snow this winter. The different sizes makes it real nice for application purposes.

I'm using the burlap to wrap young pine trees in a very cold, dry climate for the winter months. I need 9-10 ft per tree, and I have 11 trees to wrap, so buying the small packages at the local home center is not a good option for me.
Having 100 yds of burlap is great - no waste, and with luck I'll get three years out of it.
The box is 53 lbs, and you'll need to wrap your arms around it to hoist to shoulder level, but that's no problem, if you're a landscaper or experienced gardener.
