Holes are too big. Had to close up all the holes and install one emitter and it worked fine after that. Would not recommend this item if you can not handle closeing up the holes and changing the amount of water leaving the ring. It's a good idea but it has to be modified too work properly.

Good idea for newly planted shrubs etc. Problem with excessive flow rate - needed to close up some of the holes. Oh - don't let the stopper get pushed in to the unit - takes some time and patience to retrieve "it" - Would still recommend purchase.

For several years I have successfully used water rings to keep my dwarf and semi-dwarf fruit trees alive during dry summers. It has been very effective.
