Comments about GEMPLERS GEMPLER'S Soil Test Kit:
I helped edit the guide book and routinely provide training or supervise others giving training in the use of this kit. Gemplers' is not responsive to feedback about needed changes in the kit. They have recently stopped providing needles, necessary for the respiration test. They changed the syringe type so that it no longer fits the rubber tubing, also for the respiration test. The batteries are usually DOA. The soil stability kit has conical screens which artificially hold the soils together; for this to be a valid assay flat screens are necessary. This is not rocket science, folks! Get it right!! For [$]+, we shouldn't have to order replacement parts from other vendors just to get started. My agency is the single largest proponent of this kit. And I am starting to recommend that people go elsewhere to put together their own kits. Unfortunately, I cannot in good conscience recommend this one any more.

Merchant response: We worked closely with this customer to resolve the following issues with this soil test kit: the syringe has been updated to fit the rubber tubing, the pH meter has been replaced with an updated model and the screens have been changed to perform the soil stability tests. Due to shipping safety regulations, we are no longer able to provide needles in the kit for the respiration tests. Customers will need to source these from a local veterinary supply store. All of these changes have satisfied the requirements of our customer and improved the overall quality of this testing kit.
