Gypsy moth caterpillars can cause damage to many different species of trees by defoliating the canopy. They prefer oaks but will also feed on many different trees and shrubs, both hardwoods and conifers. This trap effectively captures male adult Gypsy moths and can be used to monitor for pesticide applications. Pheromone lures need to be purchased separately (Item No. 160103) and are effective up to four weeks. Contact your county extension agent or local university's entomology department for placement times and quantities. USA made.

Gysy Moths should not just be counted from a trap that does not hold the moths. One escaped as I was jiggling it! They need to be killed inside the trap to be effective, with an easy way to remove the remains.
If a trap does NOT hold moths you do NOT realize you have a problem until your trees die! Our other (2) traps caught over 100 moths and these (4) traps caught zilch.
