This diaphragm pump generates a low-pressure (maximum 60 psi) resulting in larger droplets with less spray drift. Works well with abrasive sprays and wettable powders which may cause wear to piston pumps. 5-gallon solo® sprayer is designed so only chemical-resistant parts come in contact with the formula being sprayed. As a result, you'll have years of trouble-free spraying. Pump handle is adjustable for left or right hand operation. Supplied with two spray nozzles which provide three different spray patterns. Flat spray nozzle is recommended for general area spraying. For spot spraying, the conical nozzle provides a cone-shaped spray when used with the supplied swirl plate and a pin-stream spray without the swirl plate. Large 4" opening with strainer allows fast and safe fillings. Features a handy interlock device for continous spraying. Wt. empty 11 lbs. This pump generates a lower pressure (maximum 60 p.s.i.) resulting in larger droplets with less spray drift. Works well with abrasive sprays or wettable powders which may cause wear to piston pumps. Delivers 0.5 GPM at 60 psi. Made in Germany.

Comments about Solo Backpack Sprayer -- 5-gal Diaphragm Pump:

I use this solely to spay pesticides, mostly for deer ticks. I spray approx 6 gal a month around the wooded perimeter of our property and about 10 feet into the woods. Also use for our roses and lilies, against japanese beetles, etc. Bottom line is that it gets a lot of use. i find the wand is difficult to keep out of my way when putting on the sprayer and I broke it too easily doing that. Some type of holder would be great. Otherwise it has held up well over several years of constant use without repair. until today when the wand control handle broke.

Comments about Solo Backpack Sprayer -- 5-gal Diaphragm Pump:

VERY DISAPPOINTED. FIRST TIME I ATTEMPTED TO USE FOR HERBICIDE DISPERSAL IT LEAKED OUT OF THE BOTTOM PUMP SECTION CONTINUOUSLY. I HAD TO LIFT AND EMPTY INTO ANOTHER SPRAYER. IF I HAD ATTEMPTED TO USE IT, THE CHEMICAL MIX WOULD HAVE DRIPPED DOWN THE CRACK OF MY BUTT !!! GEMPLER SAID THEY WOULD REPLACE BUT PUT ME ON ENTERNAL HOLD & STILL DID NOT GET ANY RETURN INSTRUCTIONS!

Comments about Solo Backpack Sprayer -- 5-gal Diaphragm Pump:

Compared to other sprayers absolutely fantastic. Everything works, first time, always.
Never had a sprayer that pumps so well. Never needs priming. Just works.
A few pumps keeps pressure for long time.

Hard to direct wide spray to controlled positions.
Pump is heavy to get onto shoulders but that's a backpack sprayer. Not pertinent to just this pump.
