I live in Southern Ca, my home is based on the bottom of the foothills of a mountain. Our property is semi large. We are next to a field and tall trees. Although we are big animal lovers we don't want the crows and critters in our pool or the rats coming in from the field. I already have motionless owls that work very well. My house looks like I own the air space above me. Birds constantly fly around my house. My Dad actually bought the decoy that takes batteries and whoots. However I had to return it. It didn't have a place to fill for added weight. The electronics ran down the center. It said try mounting to a 2x4. Well I didn't want jankie wood on my brick walls and we live where we get Santa Ana winds. So this lil owl shows up. You can fill with sand or gravel and with just the smallest breeze his head goes back and fourth. Even alllll the way around, like owls actually do. He is as aesthetically perfect and fun to watch. I want to replace all my other owls with these. Ps. All my local hummingbirds still come to feed. :)

Small birds got used to this product in less than 2 days, for crows it works though.

I sprayed insect repellant inside the owl to keep the hornets from nesting inside. I put the owl on a pole and tied the poll to the deck banister to keep the black birds from messing over my deck & pool. It really does work.
