the ratchet design makes all the difference, so easy on your hand, won't believe the size of the branches you can cut. Everyone in my garden club wants one.

I Maintain trail systems in our Town Forests.Cutting 1 in. branches spreads jaws/handle so far apart other handle is so far open fingers can't reach it to start cut. However Gempler's was very helpful with my problem.

Good but not great!

Using heavily right out of box for storm cleanup. Hard to use with work gloves - all fingers will not fit in handle. Appears that it would be hard to fix if it broke because of design. Blade has remained sharp. Good value and replaces long handle lopper for most branch trimming.
