This shut off is hands down way better than any I've ever used. The best feature is the long, easily turned lever. No more struggling with the short, hard to turn levers. Pricey, but the quality of materials means less cost in the long run. I bought four. Put one at the faucet and one on the end of the hose (2) with a cheap shut off at the end of the Dramm to protect it from dropping, etc.

The longer shut-off lever is a definite improvement over the older Dramm models, BUT the design of these new versions does not allow the high-pressure streams of water that the older ones did. When the lever is fully opened now, the best you get is a feeble flop of water out the nozzle about 6 feet or so, vs. the high-powered jet you used to be able to get, which we need daily to spray plants/trees, 20-30 feet sometimes. Even when just watering plants, the new valve makes it feel as if your water pressure's taken a nosedive. Give me the old model any day!

Comments about Dramm Brass Shutoff Valve for Watering Handles:
I use this product on all of my hose ends for watering and washing my cars with or w/o attachments.Occasionally I will attach nozzles when I need to modulate the flow to water seedlings or small plants that cannot take the full force of the open valve. There are many inexpensive heads that can be attached such as the Dramm Water Breaker to do so. It provides a versatile, reliable and solid shutoff and they have never leaked. I have even used them for basement masonry projects in my home. I would not trust any valve for a project like that where a leak is just not an option. I have used this product for ten years or more and can't do without them during the watering months. They have not worn out, however since this is a solid brass product, if you drag it on the concrete enough, the threads will eventually wear down. This does not effect the valves operation but obviously will make threading any attachment impossible. A quality made in the USA product.

I use it to water the garden and some pot plants I have outside.

We use these all over our park in extreme outdoor areas. They hold up better than others as they do not break when dropped.
Dramm Brass ShutOff Valve for 3/4" hose

About Me Master Gardener
Keep it on our hose end before any other attachment. It's the BEST on/off valve ever. The large lever is easy to switch on & off and being made of ALL Brass - it's very durable and heavy duty. Plastics just break in a short time. Not this ShutOff Valve. It's GREAT. I had one before for M A N Y years and first now needed a replacement. Plus I like that it is made in Wisconsin, USA !
