I do snow removal, I'm in an out of the truck for 8 hours every snow, 20-40 a year. I've tried them all, don't waste you time on anything else. This one will last 2 season for me, changing the cleats 3-4 times a season. I won't leave home without them, even walking the dog. But remember, on solid ice they will slide if you're not careful.

I use these for training in the mountains and for mountain search & rescue - choice between these and Katoolahs - strap these on and you'll never notice you have them on - excellent traction - both ice and snow (there is some good tread on the rubber bottom as well. A bit hard to pack in a back pack whereas Katoolahs slip into a pouch. When the studs dull - just unscrew and put in new ones - I've used these for 4 years and haven't needed to change the studs yet - that includes walking on exposed rocks, and throuch gravel and mud. I did manage to tear one stud out - a bit of glue and it hasn't come out since. The Velcro straps are easy to use and once you've got them strapped on they won't come off.

I haven't tried them out yet - we haven't had snow or ice since I received them, but I'm pretty excited that it's waht I've been looking for. I am totally unable to walk on icy surfaces, but have to walk the dog despite the weather. I'm always terrified of falling. Think this will do the trick.

Bought these for my wife. I've had a pair for years and they work great. Get them BEFORE you break something. Now she can walk with her hands in her pockets.
