Comments about Victor Mole Trap -- Scissor-type:

This takes a LOT of hand strength to set and there's definitely a learning curve on the first try, but by golly once you get the hang of setting the trap it most definitely WORKS.

Comments about Victor Mole Trap -- Scissor-type:

Forget expensive hi-tech gadgets and go with this simple and effective trap. Having tried several expensive mole deterrents (electronic, chemical, mechanical), I finally decided to try an old fashioned low-tech trap. Eureka! After two years of frustration I got my first mole in June 2009 and have caught eleven more in the 16 months since that time. There is s learning curve to getting results but this is hands down the best mole trap on the market. It's inexpensive, simple and almost bullet proof. It does require some muscle to set, but that's necessary to achieve results in soil. Be careful when setting the trap and mind your fingers. The key to success is to set the trap very near the start or end of a new run, which means you have to be aware of activity and distinguish old from new runs. Set the trap, then use the safety catch while placing the trap along a run. Forget what it says in the instructions about digging holes to emplace the trap. Simply use your fist to create a depression in the mole run and press the scissors levers into undisturbed soil along and on either side of the depression, with the trigger plate over the depression. You need a small gap (1/4 - 1/2") under the trigger plate. DON'T FORGET TO REMOVE THE SAFETY CATCH or your mole will pass the toll gate witout paying the toll. Moles seem most active in the morning shortly after sunrise and in the evening around sunset. I have caught most moles in the morning. Buy three if you're serious about getting the job done. Good hunting!
