I have had one of these for years. When it was time to buy another, I picked another type....wrong move.
When I saw this in Gempler's I was thrilled. It picks up even the smallest item, lightweight but strong, and easy to use. With my arthritis, I use this many times a day inside my house.

I have one that is about 10 years old. They still work, but showing signs of wear. I use the tongs to pick up trash and debris from trees and plants around my yard. They work Great.

I've used this for several years now and it has held up. Use it to pick up trash from water filled cans and bottles to small scraps of paper. Exremely light, durable and easy on the hands. Have used other types of "grippers" that require you to squeeze the handles and none have worked better than the trash tong.

One of our dogs loves to potty in the rocks, so I use this tool for picking up poop among the stones since the scooper obviously doesn't work in such a terrain. And while I'm picking up doggie droppings, I also use it to pick up errant rocks, leaves, etc., especially in tight places so I don't have to crawl around on the ground to get to them. It's a lightweight tool that can pick up very small things pretty securely.
