Product Information

Handheld sprayer can be pressurized with air compressor to eliminate pumping

  • Long-lasting heavy-duty pump
  • Longer pump stroke and larger cylinder means less pumping
  • Thicker UV-stabilized HDPE tank

  • Extra-large 4-1/2" tank opening

This rugged, 2-1/4-gallon handheld model is one of heaviest-duty compression sprayers that solo® makes. Pressure relief valve allows for easy opening after spraying. All seals and O-rings are made from chemical-resistant Viton for long life. Maximum pressure of 45 p.s.i. Includes two nozzles: an adjustable cone to stream nozzle and a 110° flat fan nozzle. Includes a valve for inflation with an air compressor to eliminate pumping. USA made.

Comments about Solo 2-1/4-gallon Handheld Sprayer:

Use a sprayer daily for 30 years. This is only sprayer that would not work at all even tho the most expensive I have bought. Poor customer support from Solo, Gemplers tried to help by sending a second unit, same problem.

Comments about Solo 2-1/4-gallon Handheld Sprayer:

Professional with 20 years of experience using different sprayers. Solo sprayers have frustrated me over the years. I've bought them because they are readily available in the trade and somewhat inexpensive. On average they last about three months to a year until a seal or o-ring blows. We have 10+ people using our sprayers at work, so it's hard to control how they are used, but I seem to have one ending up broken on my desk every few weeks. Things that often go wrong: tank won't hold pressure, seals break, parts leak product, etc.

Ordering replacement parts through the schematic is very confusing and often times I order the wrong parts even after studying the diagram. Why doesn't Gemplers just sell entire assemblies (i.e. the entire lid + handle, etc.) so customers don't have to deal with ordering the wrong seals and o-rings?

Overall, Solo sprayers are an okay product with a marginal shelf life.

Comments about Solo 2-1/4-gallon Handheld Sprayer:

Overall, the 2-1/4 gallon sprayer that I purchased is very good. In Arizona, I use the sprayer to spot kill weeds. It uses less herbicide and disperses it more evenly than my old sprayer. The 28 inch wand is a blessing.

The openning must be over-tightened or it will leak air with a hissing sound. After use, even with all the air released from the tank a rubber mallet must be used on the handle to open it. The finger grip on the air release valve must be used gently or it will pop off.

Overall, the unit is an improvement over the hardware store sprayer buy it needs some improvements.
