Mountain Pine Beetle Repellent
Synthetic pheromone "messages" arriving beetles to look elsewhere for food
- Contains two pheromone pouches
- Nontoxic to people and animals when instructions are followed
Keep the most destructive pest in North American forests away from your high-value pine trees. This repellent uses the synthetic pheromone Verbenone to replicate actual beetle pheromone, which sends a "message" that the tree is full and the food supply is insufficient for additional beetles. Verbenone has been effective in IPM programs for more than a decade and is nontoxic to people and animals when instructions are followed. This pack contains two pouches – the first of which should be nailed to the tree just prior to beetle flight season (between April and June). Attach the second pouch just before peak flight (usually mid-August). Made in Canada.
