I NEEDED A WIDE SHOVEL TO REMOVE THE LITTLE SNOW LEFT ON MY BLACKTOP DRIVEWAY AFTER I CLEAR IT WITH A SNOW THROWER. I THEN PUSH THAT AMOUNT OF SNOW TO THE EDGES OF THE DW AND THEN CLEAR THAT WITH THE SNOWBLOWER AGAIN. I FOUND IT NOT EFFECTIVE IN DEEP SNOW EVEN IF CUTTING IN LAYERS, BECAUSE THE U SHAPED HANDLE MAKES IT DIFFICULT TO THROW THE CAPTURED SNOW TO THE SIDE. I HAVE RECOMMENDED IT TO FRIENDS WHO HAVE A SIMILAR USE. ONE OF MY FRIENDS HAS A LONG SLIGHTLY PITCHED ASPHALT DRIVEWAY, HE ALSO IS A FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR WITH HIS OWN PLANE AND THIS SHOVEL IS PERFECT FOR CLEANING AROUND THE PLANE WHICH IS TIED DOWN OUTDOORS. I AM GLAD I BOUGHT THE SHOVEL. THANKS FOR THE CATALOG. I HAVE ALREADY FOUND SEVERAL ITEMS THAT I WILL PURCHASE FROM YOU. [...]

No lifting, just pushing. Twice as wide as a normal shovel. Well engineered leading edge adapts. Money well spent. Get after it in the morning and work the afternoon melt.

Good idea but not fully executed. I used the shovel on a new, wide concrete driveway with saw cut expansion joints. The driveway is dead flat and the shovel went over it very smoothly until I got to the end of the "push." When you do, the reaction is to angle the shovel forward to dump the snow and that is where the problems arise. The blade is thin, flexible aluminum and the plastic edge that contacts the ground is attached to that non-reinforced edge of the shovel blade. The blade flexes when shoveling anything more than an few inches of light powdery snow. After three weeks of use, that edge flexed so much that it broke loose from the shovel and the plastic edge came off. Two options here. Send the "Girl Plow" back for replacement and risk repeating the failure or fix it myself properly. That fix was to take a 90 degree 1/8" aluminum angle iron and use a metal brake to take it from 90 degrees to 45 degrees. Attach the plastic edge to the newly bent aluminum angle iron and attach it the shovel blade with stainless steel hardware.I know this is way beyond the capabilities of most potential purchasers but unless you really baby this shovel, only use it for light powder and push straight ahead only, the contact edge will break off. It did for me. Good luck.
