LaCrosse Tracktion overshoes offer unprecedented stability on both hard and soft surfaces, keeping you upright and on your feet. When on hard surfaces, the studs retract into the rubber lugs providing the surface contact of a regular rubber outsole. I have a pair of Neos boots, which are great in the snow and offer tremendous grip. I feel these LaCrosse insulated and studded boots may offer the same grip in snow and certainly more in ice but I really bought them for their insulation and for riding on a motorcycle in sub-zero temps. They look as if they'll last forever if properly looked after.

The fit is good. I followed the salesperson's recommendations and purchased the same size as my shoe and I was not disappointed. Being insulated it is definitely harder to pull over a rubber soled shoe or sneaker than with an uninsulated pair of boots. The trade off is the insulation takes up foot space and adds lots of friction as you work your foot into the boot.

I haven't worn them yet for their intended purpose but my experience with another pair of insulated boots say they should be good for at least 1 hour's riding in sub-zero temps with no heat. 1 hour is more or less my commute so they should be fine. Add electric socks for longer trips.
