Stupidly, I left an unopened jar of this product in reach of my cairn terrier. While I was busy elsewhere, he managed to chew off the top and then eat the entire contents, while he fought off the other two terriers. Clearly, the odor was able to attract him even through the plastic container. Rodents should find it equally attractive. However, I learned from this that I must put my trap where the dogs can't get at it, or they will destroy the trap trying to get at the bait. The product caused loose stools, but otherwise my dog showed no ill effects. Will order again and hope that this time it baits the chipmonks rather than my dogs.
