We bought this unit for our cottage. It dials our number (and back-up numbers) to let us know when the power is out. Because our lake has vacation homes, no full-time residents, power could be out for a long time without being noticed. We are often the first family to call in power outages. We have been saved from frozen pipes and spoiled food on many occasions.I have recommended this product to friends!
