Comments about White Shade Cloth 40% Shade Factor:

I have purchased this shadecloth a few times for shading young trees and plants (mostly avocado). The product itself is excellent and is nice looking, except that the last piece that I ordered came with an orange discoloration. I'm guessing that the discoloration had to do with the way it was stored and was not from the original manufacturing. Even for garden use this was disappointing but if you plan to use the cloth for any application where appearance is important you may want to try to contact the company to be sure that you do not get a discolored piece. I was able to cut this cloth without any unraveling and it held well where stapled to wood posts. Of all of the pieces that I have installed not one nas torn or unraveled in any way even under high winds. I would have given 5 stars had it not been for the discoloration.

Comments about White Shade Cloth 40% Shade Factor:

My boyfriend and I constructed a free standing greenhouse with EMT piping and fittings. We pulled the shade cloth over the top and sides, using conventional grommets and bungees. The cloth was easy to work with and lightweight. Although it didnt ravel, we did need to tape the edges, as there was some curling on the cut edges. We also taped before hole punch and grommeting, due to the loose weave of the fabric. The white cloth is effective and attractive, my plants are much happier and the birds seem to stay away. Overall we were very happy with the cloth.

Comments about White Shade Cloth 40% Shade Factor:

When I was searching for covering for my orchid shade house, I wanted white as it would be the least obtrusive for my neighbors. I searched everywhere online for polyethylene in white but ONLY found it here at Gemplers. The reason? Mildew resistant and so far, stain-free. We've been using it for over a year and despite regular application of seaweed and other colorful and/or smelly fertilizers and chemicals, there has been no discoloration at all.

We recommend 100% - it is durable, attractive, breathable, high quality material. Just bought a whole lot more to expand the shade house!
