Deliver water and fertilizer right to the root zone by simply connecting a garden hose to the Ross ® Root Feeder. The water flows through the concentrated fertilizer, through the Ross root feeder tube and down into the soil. The Ross root feeder chamber holds up to four fertilizer units. Fertilizers sold separately (Item Nos. 139383, 139384, 139385, 139386, 139387).

Root feeders are a simple, great idea, but they must be made to last and offer reasonably priced replacement parts. Ross Root Feeders do neither. Better off to make your own.

This product has a great concept. The really old ones were made to last and worked well. I have decomposed granite and the tip clogs every time keeping any and all fertilizer from injecting as it is designed. Like so many other things, I guess Ross decided a cheap profitable product made in China is better than a "professional" product that actually works.

I use it to root feed & water evergreens & shrubs etc.It is great in saving water during the process.
It has a good design and you can see the fertilizer through the glass top.
The 3rd time I used it the female connector on top started to leak. Any movement will cause more water to seep out. Can't find the problem.
It was pluged-up when I turned on the water.(no water would run through). I turned the bottom end clockwise/counter a few times with a screwdriver until it find@$y begun to run.
The unit is too short. they should make the it longer by adding 12 inces to the lenth.

I used one my father had until it gave up (25 years?) Then I got another (not as sturdy) and use it to keep my Texas Red Oak alive in the heat and sun of Texas summers. My neighbor liked it, got one, and used it to water his yard - it doesn't waste water so it can be used during drought restrictions! It keeps our water bills low and conserves resources.
