When I first saw these gloves I was amazed at how lovely they looked and fit. They protected my entire forearm and did not gape open so that when I would remove my arm from the middle of a shrub it was snug enough to pull free without getting stuck on a branch or thorn in the center of the shrub. However, they are not water resistant, and cannot take heavy pruning. I took these gloves to work (I work at a Garden Center) and spent the day pruning roses, etc. and by the end of the day the seams in the gloves were opening up. Use these gloves only for light pruning.

I would have given a better review above if not for the faulty pair.

      • Protects from poison ivy

Comments about Kinco Gloves Women's Goatskin Landscaping / Nursery:

I needed gloves that cover the arms above the elbows, since there is poison ivy and other weeds, like smartweed that are very irritating, in my backyard. Even with spraying, they come back. These gloves do a fantastic job. I wore them twice already, and had no skin irritations or blisters either time. They are comfortable (of course in this hot weather they are warm) but that can't be helped. They will be great when it is cooler outside. I was also cutting raspberry bushes and got no thorns in me. Thank you so much!

What a treat! These are so great against rose prickles and thorns and unlike cloth and imitation leather, the thorns don't snag and catch but seem to slide right off. Best gloves I've ever had!
          Thanks!
