I work in the trades and have found these shorts to be a valuable tool in themselves. I have carried everything from small parts to tape, nuts, bolts, screws, nails and small hand tools and the pockets have all held up very well. We have a short summer but it gets very warm here and that is the only draw back, the material is heavy and makes them a little warmer than what I had hoped. This is small sacrfice for a great product.

As a practising athlete (Rower, distance runner), I often have problems with pants that fit my waist not fitting my seat. I have a 33/34" waist but frequently have to order pants with a 36" waist to ensure enough room in the seat to give me the freedom of movement I need for my job as a carpenter. I ordered shorts with a 36" waist and found them too tight and reordered them in 38" and found that although te waist was now rediculously loose there seemed to be no extra room in the seat. The designers of these shorts need to realize that not all tradespeople have the big gut/no butt body type.

Comments about Riggs Workwear Ranger Shorts:

This is my second or third pair of Riggs Ranger Shorts, having switched from other name-brand work shorts. They're almost bulletproof for years, even after almost daily work wear and washings. The bark color weathers nicely, and they are stylish enough for camping and some casual wear as well as work. The Cordura-lined back pockets prevent early wear-through there from wallets and key holders: the premature downfall of my previous brands. Now early wear occurs at or near the crotch seams of the Ranger shorts from entering and leaving my truck, sitting on rough surfaces, or stretching/straining on the job site. Improvements, please? Also, the ruler holder on the lower right-side pocket could be a little wider for those of us who still use a 6' folding ruler. Still, a great pair of work shorts worth the price!

Comments about Riggs Workwear Ranger Shorts:

I work on a ranch. Especially like the cargo pocket with snaps. Work shorts with Velcro closures are awkward to use as they tend to close while using one hand. When I get a new pair I have them tailored. I have the legs shortened by about an inch and a half so the don't bind at the knees when bending and squatting. Strengthening on the pocket openings inside and out allow for longer wear.
