Comments about Fimco ATV Sprayer -- 12-volt, 25-gallon--Three-section Folding Boom:

        WORK: Airport Maintanence
PURPOSE: Kill all Vegetation to deter Birds
        USE: Weed Chemicals
        Quantities: 100 gallons per week.
        Area: about 5 sq Miles
Chemicals: Roud Up, Aqua Master, Excel 90, Milestone and Bigfoot dye. Works within high humidity, wet conditions and is usually doused with water often during refill and cleaning.

I mention this info because the chemicals destroy everything. The system requires a clean up after every use.

        Broken:
*Nozzle Trigger and Tip. Dropped and dragged accidently a few times plus 4+ years of use.
*FIMCO Swivle Nut X 2 broken (Fix-Hose clamp or zip tie)
        *Bypass Hose (Fix-Siliconed holes)
        *Pressue Switch (fix-replaced X 2)
*Tank Mounts inside to base(Fix-Siliconed cracks)
        *Manifold beam( Fix-bought new manifold)
*Power Connection Failed (Fix-Sprayed contact cleaner )
        *Rusted Screws and bolts (Fix-Replaced)

Mounted this unit to a Kawasaki Mule 4010 4x4 for use on paved and unpaved surfaces.

This sprayer is used by different personnel with high use and this sprayer takes the abuse. We use both Boom and wand spraying and sometimes we use both the boom and wand spraying simotanuously.

We spray an airport with areas outside aircraft movement and within aircraft movement areas and this sprayer is a fantastic little machine to cover such large areas.

It's weekness is the brittle plastic fittings but its worth every penny of investment and effort to fix and replace these. I attribute the breakage to the environment and chemicals we use. We also work this little sprayer till it breaks.

Watch the pressure switches we broke those when the pump was connected to a garden hose for cleaning. This kills the pressure switch.

I heard of fuse issues. We have NEVER had a fuse issue.

I love this little machine and its made my life 100 times easier along with my co-workers.
        I recommend highly

Comments about Fimco ATV Sprayer -- 12-volt, 25-gallon--Three-section Folding Boom:

The boom is made of very heavy tubular steel, which would be okay if the springs weren't very heavy as well. I've had boom sprayers before and when I came to an obstacle, a tree for example, the boom would yield to it and then snap back into position. This boom is so heavy that it damaged the tree and then will not come back into position. I've adjusted it every way I can and lubricated it with everything I have but it makes it no better than it was right out of the box. I feel that I've wasted close to $300 and a lot of time only to start looking for something better. The only thing I will be able to use this device for is spraying with the handheld sprayer, which is NOT what my intent was. Very disappointed.

Comments about Fimco ATV Sprayer -- 12-volt, 25-gallon--Three-section Folding Boom:

I use this on the rear of a 4-wheeler to apply herbicides to corn and soybean fields I grow as food plots. The nice wide 140" booms are great for coverage, but the welds in the breakaway hinges are too weak and have broken...I have rewelded them myself and they have held up great. I have burned out two motors now and replaced them, most recently with a larger capacity electric pump. When the unit works, it works flawlessly, and I have fixed the things that were problems...but I shouldn't have had to.

Comments about Fimco ATV Sprayer -- 12-volt, 25-gallon--Three-section Folding Boom:

The sprayer is well designed but the plastic fittings for the manifold become brittle after a year. The fold out booms are very convenient and work well. Better plastics components would make this a great sprayer.
