The boom is made of very heavy tubular steel, which would be okay if the springs weren't very heavy as well. I've had boom sprayers before and when I came to an obstacle, a tree for example, the boom would yield to it and then snap back into position. This boom is so heavy that it damaged the tree and then will not come back into position. I've adjusted it every way I can and lubricated it with everything I have but it makes it no better than it was right out of the box. I feel that I've wasted close to $300 and a lot of time only to start looking for something better. The only thing I will be able to use this device for is spraying with the handheld sprayer, which is NOT what my intent was. Very disappointed.

I use this on the rear of a 4-wheeler to apply herbicides to corn and soybean fields I grow as food plots. The nice wide 140" booms are great for coverage, but the welds in the breakaway hinges are too weak and have broken...I have rewelded them myself and they have held up great. I have burned out two motors now and replaced them, most recently with a larger capacity electric pump. When the unit works, it works flawlessly, and I have fixed the things that were problems...but I shouldn't have had to.

The sprayer is well designed but the plastic fittings for the manifold become brittle after a year. The fold out booms are very convenient and work well. Better plastics components would make this a great sprayer.
